Visual aspect: a gleaming golden-yellow colour, delicate, long bubbles.
Nose: pure, developed aromas of preserved yellow-fleshed fruit, could be improved by being poured into a decanter.
Palate: flavours of dried fruit, a slight hint of liquorice, a good representaiton of the 1996 vintage. Long and powerful on the finish, with character and elegance.
Match with food: sea bass grilled with fennel, fried boletus mushrooms.
Comment: a great growth wine for a magnificent vintage!
