Visual aspect: an averagely vivid garnet-red hue.
Nose: powerful on cherry and mineral (graphite) aromas, as well as a hint of liquorice. After swirling liquorice is more concentrated, with a touch of pencil lead.
Palate: supple initially, a silky texture, juicy, spicy flavours of cherry, rather generous. Woodiness is well-proportioned and the tannins of fine quality are pleasantly enveloped.
Match with food: rack of lamb with herbs, served with sautéed small turnips.
Comments: generous and relatively expressive, a gastronomic wine.
