Lehmann Glass…

a brand serving the effervescence

According to Champagne wine makers, the vessel has to bring a supplement of seduction. The glass is to wine what a model is to Haute Couture! “Champagne Houses need time for the elaboration of their cuvee; it is why it is essential to offer them proper tasting tools! Champagne has to be respected” Gérard Lehmann

The rise of a brand…

The wine glass contributes to enhance the aromas; it comes as logical continuity to the elaboration work. The content needs a vessel and vice versa, a notion Gérard Lehmann has understood well.
Glass designer for over 30 years at Verrerie de la Marne, he created numerous mouth-blown and mechanical collections. Over the years the firm set its experience and know-how in the service of the world’s greatest most distinguished Wine, Spirit and Champagne Houses!
Since 2012, Gérard Lehmann decided to go one step further in the oenological experimentation and to unite his expertise with Gérard Basset, Best Sommelier of the World 2010, to officially launch Lehmann Glass, the Wine Lover’s Label.
Creators of experiences, together they give rise to concepts that transform wine tasting in a true Symphony of Senses.

OPALE Collection

Estheticism, balance, general curve and glass quality are key elements that influence perfume, intensity and precision of effervescence of the Champagne wines.
Aware of these postulates, Lehmann Glass created the OPALE collection to meet the needs of its prestigious clients (great Champagne Houses, Comité Interprofessionel du Champagne–CIVC…). The elegance, sophistication and oenological properties of this collection whose pronounced pointed bottom allows a long and fine effervescence have made of Lehmann Glass a recognized brand with an informed public.

JAMESSE PRESTIGE Collection

The quest for excellence of the brand Lehmann Glass led Gérard Lehmann to work with Philippe Jamesse, head sommelier of Michelin-starred Domaine Les Crayères (Reims, France) who had a precise idea of new shapes to create. JAMESSE PRESTIGE, the signature collection of the brand, is born from this reflection.
According to Philippe Jamesse, “the narrow cup and flute do not serve Champagne, they break the aromatic expression. I imagined a vessel slimmer than a wine glass and wider than a flute”. He used his long experience in observing wines, to design this elegant line with sleek and refined curves.
The wide and generous roundness of each glass permits an optimal stretching of the wine. The pointed base is pronounced to favour the long and regular effervescence of Champagne and to offer a precise rotary point of departure. The glasses narrow slowly, giving time for the aromatic elements to free themselves. The transparency of the glasses will allow the consumer to perfectly appreciate the nuances of the wines.
“Champagne offers a wide variety of profiles and an infinite range of tastes, colours and aging. Jamesse Prestige glasses preserve and perfectly reveal the aromas and energy contained in Champagne wines”, Philippe Jamesse comments.

The Great Houses Recognition

Several Champagne makers had the pleasure to rediscover their greatest wines using JAMESSE PRESTIGE glasses. “When they told me: I never drank my wine that way, I have been really moved!”, Philippe Jamesse declares.
According to him, this collection combines 3 essential elements for Champagne tasting: space, time and respect. Space for free motion of the wine, time to fully express itself and respect for the cellar master’s work.
Hence, there is no coincidence if today houses such as Veuve Clicquot, Pol Roger, Henri Abelé, Ruinart, Gosset, Taittinger, Lanson, Louis Roederer, Cattier, Deutz, Thiénot, Billecart Salmon, Piper & Charles Heidsieck… are using JAMESSE PRESTIGE to make their tastings a unique sensory experience!
Besides, oenological teams of other Houses like Bollinger are pleased to collaborate with the brand Lehmann Glass to create their own glass.
Thus, when launching the Cuvée Bollinger R.D Millésime 2002, the House developed in partnership with Lehmann Glass, the Elisabeth glass in tribute to Madam Bollinger. Gilles Descôtes, Bollinger cellar master, even underlines that this oenological concept is a tool at the service of new tasting emotions!
