The domain is settled in the mountain of Corton, an iconic site north of the Côte de Beaune area. Seven generations succeeded each other on these lands. Now Eric, Pierre’s son, watches over the future of the 11 hectares of vines.
The vineyard is lovingly managed sustainably with addition of compost to improve the soils. Eric Marey does all the work by hand. The vineyards on hillsides have a good natural draining and exposure. The grapes are hand-picked.
Eric Marey matures his wines in oak barrels. At tasting the words than most describe his wines are harmonious, elegant, smooth, broad, silky. In other words the Pierre Marey domain produces fine wines, complex and distinguished. Eric Marey recommands to drink his white wines when young. Among the red, the Pernand Vergelesses can be kept 4 to 5 years, the 1st crus 7 to 8 years, the Corton, 5 to 10 years, unless exceptional vintage.
Pierre Marey wines are mainly sold directly at the estate but you will also find them in restaurants and in the best wine shops.
