Château Petit Val

20/03/2024
— Rose du Val Bordeaux 2024 —

Subtle and elegantly refined, Rose du Val 2024, a pressed rosé, is crafted in the style of the great Provence wines while preserving the persistence and roundness characteristic of Bordeaux.

On half a hectare of sandy-clay soils, Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (50%) vines, averaging 35 years of age, thrive under sustainable viticulture practices. The careful attention to the vineyard is reflected in permanent natural grass cover every other row and a planting density of 6,100 vines/ha, enhancing the aromatic concentration of the grapes.

Hand-harvested, the berries undergo direct pressing, preserving the freshness and purity of the fruit. Temperature-controlled fermentation (18-20°C) ensures the expression of the delicate aromas of the grape varieties, while aging in stainless steel tanks maintains the wine's vibrancy. With a controlled yield of 40 hl/ha, production is limited to 1,800 bottles and 600 magnums.

But who better to speak about it than David Liorit, estate manager at Château Petit Val?

How would you describe the aromatic profile of Rose du Val 2024?
This cuvée is made from grape varieties emblematic of Bordeaux: 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. We offer our customers a fresh, dynamic, and highly aromatic wine.

What sets the 2024 vintage apart from previous years?
For this wine, we selected clay terroirs to ensure the fruity and floral notes that define it. For the 2024 vintage, we chose the finest grape clusters to guarantee a high level of quality, concentrating the aromas while maintaining a balanced acidity and alcohol level. Selective sorting upon reception and meticulous juice clarification were key to achieving a precise and appetizing wine.

In your opinion, what makes a great rosé?
Its taste profile, of course. Rose du Val 2024 is fresh and indulgent, perfectly suited for both aperitifs and pairing with the most refined dishes. You will find notes of candy-like fruit, citrus, and exotic fruits such as lychee and peach, but above all, a signature note of this cuvée… rose!

Rose du Val 2024 pairs beautifully with a scallop carpaccio with pink grapefruit or chicken skewers with apricots and prunes.

Tasting review
