Visual aspect: a bold garnet-red hue with purplish tinges.
Nose: powerful and generous on aromas of stewed fruit, crushed blackberry, a balsamic hint, as well as caramelised, rich scents.
Palate: full-bodied and rich first taste, generous on development, the flavours confirming the aromas and tannin enveloped by alcohol. The finish reveals hints of roasting, dark chocolate and vanilla. There is distinct woodiness.
Match with food: roasted, larded pheasant with oyster mushrooms.
Comments: deluxe maturation!
