Visual aspect: a deep garnet-red colour and dark tinges.
Nose: delicate, pleasantly fruity and fine; very charming on scents of berry fruit (wild blackberries, hedgerow fruits) with a spicy hint that stands out (liquorice). Currently in a phase of wonderful maturity, it exudes powerful aromas of fruit and gives a lovely impression of delicacy.
Palate: powerful and stylish with remarkable strength of tannins, which are tightly-knit, but fleshy too. It is not aggressive and gives an expression of the most concentrated Côts.
Match with food: lamb cooked slowly to have extremely tender meat; liquorice juice.
Comments: another tremendously concentrated wine that shows the great potential of the finest, carefully selected Côts. A very good Cahors.
