Color: clear and star bright with a moderate intense ruby core and garnet rim. Nose: fine purity and aromatics of sweet dark cherries, plum and sweet strawberry, red flowers wrapped in sweet spices, just a wisp of earthiness and wild herbs. Palate: almost full in body with great freshness underneath, a crisp acidity and finely grained tannin. Midpalate shows sweet and ripe red berries (cherry, raspberry and plum), with gentle spiciness. Discreet oak and fine typical garrigue flavours adding a savoury character. The freshness stays all through the palate leading into a clean and spicy finish. Pairing: great with stews and roasts in savoury herbs. Comment: very good example of Beaumes-de-Venise with great balance and freshness despite the warm 2020 vintage and also warm climate.
