Champagne René Roger

12/12/2024
— Cuvée Réservée Brut —

Nestled in the heart of Ay, renowned for its exceptional vineyards, the Champagne René Roger estate thrives on well-exposed slopes and chalky soil, ideal for cultivating vines. While Ay is celebrated for its Pinot Noir, the house also sources Chardonnay from the distinguished terroirs of Mareuil-sur-Ay, Mutigny, and Bassu.

Today, René Roger, a recoltant-manipulant, collaborates closely with his son Laurent to promote sustainable viticulture, employing thoughtful practices such as soil management, strategic cover cropping, sexual confusion methods for pest control, and planting shrub hedges to enhance biodiversity.

The Cuvée Brut Réservée is crafted from these esteemed terroirs, composed of approximately 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. It undergoes extended aging on lees, resting in the cellar for 4 to 5 years, resulting in round, intense aromas.
