Visual aspect: very deep dark purple, raspberry glints, numerous and coloured tears. Good density. Nose: first nose chocolaty, woody, sappy, melted. Second nose balsamic, complex, accompanied by ripe black fruit such as blackcurrant, blackberry. Palate: sweet, full-bodied, dense, quite rich, meaty, with velvety and fairly melted tannins. Woody dominating on the finish. Allow to age more. Match with food: Hare à la royale, breast of duck with liquorice. Comments: a laying down wine, harmonious, rich, with autumnal flavours.
