Visual aspect: quite dark purple, peony reflections. Nose: smoky, chalky, slate, nice minerality, black fruit, burlat cherries when aerated, mentholated and woody. Palate: ample, quite dense, tannins still quite tight, sweet in mid-palate, suave fruity notes, liquorice, a woody finish. Match with food: roast leg of milk-fed lamb with roasted garlic. Comments: a nice wine that will age well with mineral and Mediterranean notes, combining strength and charm.
