Visual aspect: a marvellous deep, bold colour of dark ruby.
Nose: a lovely array of powerful aromas of pepper, roasting and very ripe small black fruits.
Palate: smooth and delicate, excellent full-body with flavours of sweet spices and cocoa that come from careful maturation. A splendid finish, developing towards a hint of black cherry.
Match with food: Baron of lamb.
Comment: an extremely charming Saint-Emilion for a complicated vintage.
