SommelierS International’s new prestige tasting has taken place in Paolo Basso’s fiefdom, in Switzerland, Geneva, at the Grand Hotel Kempinski. On the shore of the Lake Leman, some fi,y samples have been submitted to the palate of the eminent professionals of the Swiss gastronomy.

For the Very first time, SommelierS International invited the Swiss sommeliers for a special Swiss wines prestige tasting in Geneva. Some twenty houses, willing to present their wines to the eminent professionals, but also outside the borders of their country, answered present. The day started with a food and wine pairing lunch gathering the owners beside Paolo Basso. A convivial moment introduced
by an aperitif showing off Château Maison Noble’s wines. The chateau served its white Entre-Deux-Mers, as well as the Bordeaux rosé for the freshness, and its red wines Bordeaux Supérieur, and Jean de Bel Air Bordeaux. The same wines have

been commented later by the sommeliers. The afternoon was dedicated to the comments of the wines by the professional sommeliers. Departing from the usual impartiality rule, the tasters worked in presence of the owners. In the general opinion, the presented samples all showed beautiful qualities in the structure and in the organoleptic characters. The latter have been highlighted thanks to the glasses of the range Chef&Sommelier provided by Arc International, represented for the occasion by Virginie François.The white wines have been tasted in the Open Up Universal Tasting and the red ones in the Open Up Tannic. The range Chef&Sommelier is particularly made for the wine professionals but also for the great connoisseurs. Its shape is especially designed to efficiently free the aromas and sublimate the tasting moement. After this industrious session, the afternoon continued with exchanges between the sommeliers and producers who could get live impressions from the tasters. Many thanks to all of those who contributed to

the success of this event, and to the team of the Grand Hotel Kempinski for their efficiency.
