Michelin 2008and its shower of starsRevealed at the end of March this year, the roll of honour of Michelin’s latest gastronomic guide makes ‘Petit Nice’ the first restaurant in Marseille to have three stars gleam above its sign.
In Paris, however, ‘Le Grand Vefour’ was moved down to two stars.
The provinces made a clean sweep of all promotions to two stars with a marvellous helping hand awarded to Philippe Etchebest, Chef at ‘L’Hôtellerie de Plaisance’ in Saint-Emilion. Part of the Relais & Châteaux chain, this restaurant belongs to no other than Gérard and Chantal Perse, known for their portfolio of winegrowing estates, which includes Château Monbousquet, Château Pavie Decesse, Château Bellevue Mondotte and Château Pavie.
