Color: clear and star bright with a moderate intense ruby core and garnet rim. Nose: moderate aromatic intensity with sweet overripe red cherry, strawberry and plum in combination with plenty of sweet spice like clove, pepper and cinnamon. Dried red blossom, a savoury earthy scent, hint of aromatic dried herbs. Palate: good density and grip with elevated and tight tannin, well retained fresh acidity. The midpalate is showing warmth and volume with ripe red and dark berries, lots of spices (crushed black pepper, cinnamon, cumin) adding warmth, and savoury herbs. Pairing: great with stews and roasts in savoury herbs. Comment: a good example of Gigondas with good freshness, spice and ripe fruity character.
