Visual aspect: a dark, slightly violet colour. Nose: good maturation can be sensed, aroma of new wood, scents of violet flowers, toast, vanilla, hints of black pepper. Palate: full-bodied, with a vanilla flavour from the wood sustaining the wine overall, delicate, perceptible tannins which are very plump, the wine is rich and excellently long. Match with food: venison cooked as beef. Comments: an extraordinary wine which should be decanted one hour before serving.
