Champagne Brigitte Beaufort is a family-run estate of 4 hectares, established in 2008 in Bouzy by Brigitte Beaufort with the help of her two children, Anne-Louise and Pierre-Herbert.
Over the years, Brigitte Beaufort has developed a true originality in her wines, with the sole aim of enhancing the terroir by selecting the best grapes, referred to as the “Heart of Galippe”. Here, quality takes precedence over quantity, resulting in a limited production of 1 to 3 micro-cuvées each year, totaling only 6,000 bottles.
The Passion Vintage 2013 cuvée, with an extra-brut dosage (4g/l), is made up of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay and has benefited from over 10 years of cellar aging to reveal its full complexity. Produced in a limited edition of 4,000 bottles, this cuvée is the result of a cool and damp spring, with a particularly poor month of May. A moderately warm summer allowed for a slow and refined ripening of the grapes, leading to the development of great aromatic complexity. Passion 2013, therefore, has a pronounced character, reflecting a blend dominated by Pinot Noir.
Color: golden yellow, clear, and sparkling. Fine and consistent stream of bubbles.
Nose: an expressive and elegant initial aroma of small red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), evolving into subtle toasted and spicy notes.
Palate: a lively and direct attack, with delightful richness. Notes of Granny Smith apple, a lovely freshness, and a slightly tart finish.
Pairing: grilled lobster.
Comment: this Passion 2013 cuvée is a true success, beautifully showcasing the Bouzy terroir.
