Champagne Lombard celebrates its centenary

19/06/2025

Founded in 1925 by Robert Andrieu, an agronomist with a passion for winemaking, Champagne Lombard has embodied a proud family tradition for a hundred years, passed down through generations. In 1975, Thierry Lombard began developing the namesake brand, and in 2004, he laid the foundation for a more demanding approach to viticulture, acquiring 5.5 hectares of vineyards in Premier and Grand Cru villages. That same year saw the arrival of Laurent Vaillant, who introduced the estate’s first single-vineyard vinifications.

Since 2015, Thomas Lombard — the founder’s great-grandson — has continued the pursuit of excellence with a bold and modern vision of Champagne: parcel-based vinification, minimal dosage, a deep respect for terroir, and organic certification obtained in 2022 for the estate’s six hectares. This precise and committed approach champions authenticity and the pure expression of the Champagne soils.

To mark its centenary, Champagne Lombard is heading to Paris from May 24 to June 9, 2025, with an immersive pop-up store in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés (70 rue du Cherche-Midi). In a minimalist space featuring raw materials and honeycomb cardboard furniture — echoing the singular character of the house’s cuvées — visitors will be invited to take part in a truly sensory experience. Thematic tastings and expert-led workshops, masterclasses on winemaking and terroirs, virtual soil mapping, and a sensory cabinet of curiosities all reflect Champagne Lombard’s deep love for its land.
