The Domaine Jean-Charles Rion, which now covers 9.5 hectares, moved to the family property in Premeaux-Prissey in August 2023, and now offers six new red appellations: Nuits-Saint-Georges villages and 1er Cru, Vosne Romanée villages and 1er Cru, Clos-Vougeot, and Échezeaux.
The estate practices sustainable viticulture to limit inputs and produce exquisite AOP wines that are true to their terroir. Yields are deliberately limited, and the hand-harvested grapes are meticulously sorted to ensure high-quality berries. Vinification takes place in open stainless steel vats, with temperatures carefully monitored during alcoholic fermentation. Macerations, ranging from fifteen days to three weeks depending on the appellations and vintages, precede aging in oak barrels for twelve months for the red wines, the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits white, and the Nuits St Georges 1er Cru white “Les Terres Blanches” (Pinot Blanc).
