Just a short distance from Bordeaux and the Arcachon Bay,
in the heart of the prestigious Pessac-Léognan appellation,
Château Léognan is as much about hospitality as it is about fine wine.
Here, wine is not only tasted—it is experienced.
A former 17th-century ecclesiastical estate once run by monks, the château now offers a diverse range of wine tourism experiences. Carefully renovated since 2010, the property first opened to the public with a seminar room, four guest rooms, and a self-catering cottage. In 2023, it expanded its offerings with the inauguration of 17 elegantly appointed rooms and suites within the château itself. A seasonal spa, set in lush greenery, completes this enchanting escape.
On the culinary side, Le Manège, the château’s refined bistronomic restaurant housed in the former Napoléon III stables, showcases gourmet cuisine that celebrates local produce. The stables are also set to welcome 25 additional rooms and two new dining venues, promising even more delight for guests.
But the experience goes far beyond accommodation and fine dining. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the still-consecrated private chapel, curated tastings (including classic, vertical vintage, or gourmet pairings with fine cheeses, pastries, or even Oscietra caviar), as well as horse-drawn carriage or bicycle rides through the vineyards—each activity offering a unique glimpse into the soul of the estate.
More than just a stopover, Château Léognan invites you to discover wine in a different way, in a haven of peace and serenity.
