Second wine of Château Clerc Milon, an estate acquired in 1970 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Pastourelle de Clerc Milon gracefully embodies the spirit of Pauillac. First crafted with the 2009 vintage, it has been marketed under its own name since 2015.
The wine takes its name from a medieval poetic style, also evoking the château’s iconic dancers. A curious anecdote: the name “Pastourelle” had already been trademarked—years earlier—by the Baron himself. A predestined choice.
The 2019 cuvée is made up of 66% Merlot, complemented by 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc. The 2019 vintage benefited from a particularly hot and sunny summer, punctuated by timely, beneficial rainfall. Harvested between September 19 and October 9, this Pastourelle stands out for its fruit-forward character, freshness and indulgent texture. An ideal gateway to the estate’s style and Pauillac identity.
