For the third consecutive year, SommelierS International had the privilege of introducing
a dozen sommeliers to the rich and diverse world of Japanese spirits.
Held in the elegant salons of Hôtel de Sèze in Bordeaux, in partnership with the Kura Master competition and with the presence of Mariko Koma and Keiichiro Miyagawa, founder of the Kura Master association, the event offered professionals the opportunity to taste 19 award-winning beverages. Awamori, honkaku shochu, sake, sparkling sake, umeshu, and Koshu wine, each one a unique nectar revealing surprising and complex aromas. Each cuvée unveiled a distinct facet of Japan, ranging from floral elegance to umami depth and delicate textures. A thrilling sensory journey that showcased the dynamism and diversity of Japanese producers.
A look back at this Asian adventure.
