Château Saint Jacques D'Albas
Visual aspect: dark, quite purplish, peony reflections, thick coloured tears. Nose: woody, mentholated, peppery, eucalyptus, blackcurrant liqueur, liquorice wood, juniper, garrigue. Palate: ample, dense, many tannins but still tight. Acid in the mouth, a fresh finish on liquorice. Match with food: tajine of preserved knuckle of lamb, grilled bull chops served rare. Comments: an interesting vintage.
