Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2002, released in the full bloom of maturity, is the house’s first Grand Vintage since the 1930s to be aged for seven years. Moët & Chandon’s tradition has been a five-year ageing period and the legal minimum is three. To celebrate the launch of this distinguished vintage Moët & Chandon has created this limited-edition of Verner Panton’s renowned Bar Boy. This luxury mobile bar is equipped with a bottle of Grand Vintage 2002 as well as two exceptional older wines from the Grand Vintage Collection, Grand Vintage Collection 1992 and Grand Vintage Collection 1982.
The opportunity to taste these fine wines together is a unique, exceptional experience that was once rarely available outside the historic Moët & Chandon cellars. These wines are characterised as “harmonious”. They are distinguished by their maturity, the homogeneity of their harvests and the harmony of and among their palates, an ideal combination of wines for a vertical tasting.
The Grand Vintage Bar Boy
The Verner Panton Bar Boy, first issued in 1963, represents the epitome of excellence in 20th century furniture design. Considered one of the most creative pieces of the past 50 years, this unique version of the Bar Boy, with its warm lacquered black finish and leather lined interior has been edited exclusively for Moët & Chandon.
Combining mobility, convenience and beauty, the cylindrical Bar Boy is on casters, and the lower compartment opens to reveal the three Grand Vintage champagnes and a luxury Chiller, which chills a bottle to 10°C in only 15 minutes. The middle compartment holds four Grand Vintage flutes custom designed by Riedel, the industry’s leading innovator and creator of specialist wine glasses. The shapely flutes highlight the maturity, complexity and assertive personality that make these fine wines so prized and so distinctive. For added convenience, supplementary accessories can be stored in the upper compartment.
