Although the family's history dates back to 1808, the Domaine is currently represented by Michel and the eighth generation: Charline, Hugo, and Antoine.
The vineyard, located in Urville, covers 70 hectares and is organically farmed. Situated on limestone hills originating from the Kimmeridgian Jurassic period, enriched with fossilized marine microorganisms, this terroir produces wines that are both taut and distinguished. Additionally, since 2016, the Domain has been committed to a zero-carbon approach, incorporating photovoltaic cellars, electric vehicles, and sustainable packaging.
Rich with the seven grape varieties permitted in Champagne (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier, Arbane, and Fromenteau), the Maison Drappier embraces the unexpected by giving prominence to ancient grape varieties.
The Quattuor cuvée embodies the originality and craftsmanship of the Drappier family with its blend of 25% Arbane, 25% Petit Meslier, 25% Pinot Blanc, and 25% Chardonnay. The result is a Blanc de Blancs that is fruity, floral, fresh, and mineral-driven.
With the Trop m'en faut Brut Nature cuvée, we rediscover the taste of wines from the past with a 100% Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), offering ripe mirabelle plum notes and a tense effervescence, softened by hints of acacia honey.
As for the Père Pinot 2 cuvée, it is a family wine that pays tribute to previous generations, particularly Georges, known as “Père Pinot” in the 1930s. This blend of 25% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier, 25% Fromenteau, and 25% Pinot Blanc offers a generous attack with notes of bergamot and prune, contrasted by a finish marked by smoked salt.
