Built in the 18th century on the northern slope of Saint-Emilion, Château Tour Saint Pierre had belonged to the Goudineau family since 1928, notably known thanks to Jacques Goudineau, mayor of Saint-Émilion from 1988 to 2007.
In 2022, Denis Chazarain and Pierre-Yves Rigaux restored the property's former glory with the ambition of transforming it into a key meeting place for lovers of Saint-Émilion's great wines and its unique terroir. Under the expert direction of David Caillaud, the estate has benefited from numerous innovations that have restored Château Tour Saint Pierre to its former splendor: a new vat house, Malbec plantation, and increased attention to biodiversity.
Today, these efforts enhance the 11.5 hectares of vineyards, planted mainly with Merlot (80%), but also with Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (10%), on clay-silt soil with limestone nuances. Managed with sustainable practices, the vineyard, averaging 25 years old, is vinified plot by plot in thermoregulated concrete vats, then aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months, offering wines with a frank attack and velvety texture. The tannins are firm, followed by primary aromas of fresh red fruits, as well as tertiary aromas of spices and cocoa. The finish is long-lasting, revealing a beautiful fruity return.
Thus, over time, Château Tour Saint Pierre has achieved its goal: to produce a wine worthy of its Saint-Émilion Grand Cru designation.
