Since the 1960s, Michel Niellon has embodied the continuity of a family savoir-faire passed down through generations. The son and grandson of winegrowers, he was among the first to introduce estate bottling and has worked to pass on his values—first to his daughter Françoise, who followed in his footsteps from a young age, then to his son-in-law Michel Coutoux, and now to his grandchildren, Mathieu and Lucie, both fully committed to the estate’s future.
Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, with a prestigious plot in Puligny-Montrachet for the Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet, the estate covers 7.5 hectares, two-thirds of which are planted with Chardonnay, the rest with Pinot Noir. Some of the vines are very old and are cultivated using sustainable viticulture practices, with particular care given to the soil and respect for living ecosystems. Vineyard work is adapted to the specific conditions of each vintage, with a constant focus on grape quality. Vinification is intentionally traditional and unadorned, aiming to highlight the expression of terroir and authenticity, resulting in characterful wines that reflect the richness of Burgundy’s climats. Each cuvée is a faithful reflection of its origin, crafted to age gracefully over time. Among them, the Chassagne-Montrachet white stands out for its aromatic richness, balance, and structure.
