French Bloom

20/03/2025
The Revolution of Extra Brut 0.0%

Since its creation in 2019 by Maggie Frerejean-Taittinger, her husband Rodolphe, and Constance Jablonski, French Bloom has rapidly established itself as a benchmark in the non-alcoholic sparkling wine industry.

In less than three years, the brand has captivated over 50 countries, thanks to its cuvées crafted from organic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes sourced from French vineyards, combined with a cutting-edge dealcoholization method. Then, in October 2024, a strategic partnership with Moët Hennessy marked a decisive turning point for French Bloom, solidifying its shared vision to shape the future of non-alcoholic sparkling wines.

In 2025, French Bloom continues its pursuit of innovation by unveiling its Extra Brut. Made from 100% organic Chardonnay, this Blanc de Blancs boasts a unique composition: 0.0% alcohol, no sugar, no sulfites, and only one calorie. This bold move redefines the tasting experience, appealing to a new generation of consumers seeking sophistication without compromising on flavor. With this cuvée, French Bloom demonstrates that it is possible to harmonize aromatic richness, terroir authenticity, and modernity.

Far more than just an alcohol-free wine, this cuvée is revolutionizing the sparkling wine sector by combining innovative winemaking techniques with ancestral expertise, all while respecting the environment.

The Extra Brut is also a tribute to the Limoux terroir (Languedoc), shaped by an oceanic climate that gives it a distinctive identity. The limestone and clay-rich soil imparts vibrant minerality and remarkable freshness to the wine, preserving the grapes' natural acidity.

The creation of Extra Brut relies on a high-precision dealcoholization process using low-temperature vacuum distillation. This technique preserves the wine's integrity while achieving a 0.0% alcohol level. Grapes are harvested early to maintain their freshness and acidity, and 30% of the wines are aged in oak barrels to provide structure and character. The distillation process, conducted in three stages at temperatures not exceeding 32 degrees Celsius, ensures the purity and aromatic complexity of the final product.

With this cuvée, French Bloom reaffirms its role as a pioneer in the world of premium non-alcoholic sparkling wines.

The Extra Brut is available at the following establishments:
Restaurant Ducasse Baccarat; La Grande Épicerie de Paris;
Les Galeries Lafayette Gourmet; Duclot La Cave.

Tasting review

The Extra Brut captivates with its golden hue and fine effervescence. On the nose, it reveals delicate notes of white flowers, while the palate offers a refreshing minerality, complemented by hints of dried apricots. The finish is elegantly saline, adding beautiful tension and extending the pleasure on the palate. Crafted for refined gastronomic pairings, the Extra Brut pairs perfectly with delicate dishes, such as a scallop carpaccio with citrus.
